Omniscient Digital alternatives, measured

The agencies AI engines name alongside Omniscient Digital are Hamster Garage, Minuttia, Rampiq and Zupo. We know that because we ran ten buyer questions through four AI engines five times over and scored all 200 answers rather than writing another opinion piece. Omniscient Digital was named 49 times. The next firm was named 19 times. Here is the whole distribution, and the flaw we found in our own question set.

Who the engines name

Between 22:30 on 26 July and 01:15 on 27 July 2026 we put ten buyer questions about AI search visibility agencies to Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, and repeated the exercise five times. Forty answers per run, 200 in total. Every answer was scored for which agencies it named, and every citation it returned was opened.

Counts are of answers that named the agency, not of positions in a ranking. No agency was named in a majority of answers.

02

The flaw in our own question set

Four of the ten questions named an agency inside the question itself: what the alternatives to a named firm are, or how one named firm compares to another. An answer to a question like that will almost always repeat the name that was in the question. Counting those answers measures our prompt, not the engine.

Splitting the 200 answers on that line changes the picture. On the 120 answers whose question named no agency at all, Omniscient Digital was named 15 times, Hamster Garage 3, Minuttia once, and Rampiq and Zupo not at all. Two of the five firms that look like established alternatives appear in none of the answers where the engine had to choose a name unprompted.

That is the number worth carrying into a shortlist. An agency that only surfaces when you type its competitor's name into the prompt is not being recommended. It is being echoed.

03

Where the answers came from

The 200 answers returned 663 citations across 223 domains, and 129 of those domains were cited exactly once. The concentration at the top is the part that matters: every one of the most-cited domains is an agency's own website.

No analyst firm, no review platform and no trade publication appears near the top of this list. When a buyer asks which agency is best at AI search visibility, the engines answer largely by reading what agencies have written about themselves and about each other.

04

How to choose between them

Being named often is a fact about the reference layer, not a verdict on the work. Four questions separate these firms faster than any ranking does.

Does the agency publish its own score. This category sells measurable visibility. As far as we can tell no agency on any current list has published its own measured score in either direction. Broadcastwell published a zero of forty and left it up.
Is the price public. Omniscient Digital states that engagements start at $10,000 a month on its own site, which is more transparency than most of the category offers. Minuttia and several others quote custom pricing only. Broadcastwell publishes $4,500 a month on its pricing page.
Do the case studies tie to AI answers. Ask for a case study where the deliverable is a change in how often an AI engine names the client, measured before and after, rather than a traffic chart. Omniscient Digital publishes one on those terms. Most firms in the category publish organic traffic growth instead.
Is the vertical a fit. Omniscient Digital says on its own site that it is not a fit for cross-industry or B2C work, and that it is not the cheapest option. That is a useful disqualifier to take at face value.
05

Method and limitations

What we ran. Ten buyer questions, four engines, five runs, 200 answers, 26 to 27 July 2026. Question sets were regenerated for each run rather than held constant, so the run-to-run movement in counts is question variation and should not be read as engine instability.
What we counted. An answer counts once for an agency it names, regardless of position or sentiment. Citations are every URL the engine returned, opened and resolved to a domain.
Who wrote this. Broadcastwell sells AI search visibility services and is therefore a competitor of every firm named on this page. We are not in the ranking because ranking yourself inside your own comparison is the failure mode we get paid to diagnose. Our own score in this category was 0 of 200.
Scope. This page reports the four-engine category measurement. Our published study, The 2026 State of GEO, is a separate and single-engine measurement: Claude Sonnet with live web search, one run per prompt, and a sample that skews toward challenger brands. The two should not be conflated.
