• Ship small features on the app and the Index site, with code review on every change.
• Learn how a payments-adjacent product is built carefully: tests, idempotency and reversibility.
• Write tests for the code you change.
• Build a portfolio of merged work you can show.

• A student or a recent graduate, age 18 or over, in India or the United States.
• TypeScript or JavaScript you have written and can show.
• Some React, or the wish to learn it.
• Care about code that someone else can read.

• Real work on real categories, with published output: a byline, or named credit on a dataset or study.
• A completion certificate and a LinkedIn recommendation from the founder for work completed to standard.
• First look at paid roles, through the paid sample task that opens every hire here.
• Flexible hours across time zones, a letter for academic credit on request where your institution allows it, and the datasets, method notes and tools the work needs.

This is an unpaid, learning-first position designed so that you are the primary beneficiary: structured learning, a named mentor, no displacement of paid work, and no promise of paid employment. Open to people 18 and over.
