Healthcare revenue cycle management, measured across four AI engines

Broadcastwell publishes this measurement and provides AI search visibility services; it is not a vendor in this software category. The vendor whose position prompted the sweep remains private, and every competitor returned by the engines is reported as returned.

answers from 40 calls; three Google AI Overviews calls failed
of them named the anonymised vendor
answers named no vendor at all
citations traced to 102 domains

Thirty-seven answers, four engines, one revenue cycle management question set. The named counts below are every vendor that appeared, plus the two that did not.

Two vendors were named zero times. One of them is an established name in this category.

Waystar took 20 of 37, which is a majority of every answer produced. The distance between first and third is more than two to one. A category leader here is not competing for the top of a list, it is holding most of the list.

The anonymised vendor was named in none of the 37 answers and cited in none of them. AGS Health, which is not anonymised because the engines returned the category as it is, was also named zero times.

This sweep records returned answers and cited sources. It does not measure revenue, headcount or install base, or establish why a particular vendor was named or absent.

Broadcastwell publishes the method, open datasets, pricing, limitations and selected client work. The current measurement protocol is on the methodology page, with its scope and limitations.

Thirteen of the 37 answers, more than a third, produced no vendor shortlist at all. The engine answered the buyer's question by describing what to look for rather than who to look at.

A third of the answer surface in this category is currently unclaimed by any vendor.

Those thirteen answers identify questions where the returned answer named no vendor. The sweep does not establish why names were absent, or whether a publishing change would cause a vendor to appear.

The 37 answers returned 481 citations across 102 distinct domains, roughly 13 citations per answer. These are recorded citation counts; they do not show the full extent of an engine's retrieval or reading.

Density matters because it tells you what kind of work moves the number. Where the citation layer is thin and vendor-owned, your own documentation is the lever. Where it is broad, as here, the sources an engine reaches for are more varied and being present in them is a different exercise from publishing more on your own domain.

Either way the diagnosis comes before the spend, and the diagnosis is a measurement rather than an opinion.

What we ran. A 37-answer sweep of healthcare revenue cycle management software across four engines, Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, one run per prompt, run 1 August 2026. Forty calls returned 37 answers; Google AI Overviews failed to return an answer three times. Measured under method v1.0. Current engagements run under method v1.1, described on the methodology page.
What we counted. An answer counts once for a vendor it names, regardless of position or sentiment. Citations are URLs returned in an answer's source list, grouped by domain. They do not record engine visits.
What this does not prove. Thirty-seven answers is a small sample and one sweep is one window. Nothing here measures product quality, claim accuracy, denial rates, implementation success, price or market share. A vendor named zero times may be the right choice for a given health system and simply invisible to retrieval.
Who is anonymised and why. The vendor whose position prompted this sweep is a commercial conversation still in progress, so it is described by position rather than name. Every competitor the engines returned is named as returned, because removing them would misrepresent the answers.
Commercial disclosure. Broadcastwell publishes this page and provides the services described here. Research findings, editorial analysis and commercial claims are clearly separated.

Which healthcare RCM vendors do AI engines name most often?

Across 37 answers from four engines, Waystar was named 20 times, R1 RCM 12, FinThrive 8, Experian Health 7, Availity 5 and Ensemble 3. AGS Health was named zero times, as was the anonymised vendor whose position prompted the sweep.

What does it mean when an answer names no vendor at all?

It means the engine answered the buyer's question without producing a shortlist, usually by describing selection criteria instead. 13 of the 37 answers did this. Those answers are opportunity rather than loss: no competitor took the slot either, and the question is still being asked.

Can a large vendor be named zero times in its own category?

Yes. Two vendors in this sweep were named in none of the 37 answers, one of them an established name in the category. This sweep does not measure the relationship between naming and revenue, headcount or install base.

Is Broadcastwell one of the vendors compared here?

Broadcastwell publishes this research and provides AI search visibility services; it is not a vendor in this software category. Dated research, editorial analysis and commercial claims are presented separately.

See which buyer questions leave you out, the sources visible in those answers, and the three changes worth testing first. The Category Audit covers ten questions; the Diagnostic extends to 35 questions and 525 scheduled observed answers, adaptive runs extra. AI answers vary, so repeated observations and disagreements are reported.
